Self-taught and based in Berlin, Ben Plaumann creates expressive works that combine modern abstraction with references to antique aesthetics. Favoring gold and red tones, his paintings are marked by contrasts—dark backgrounds with glossy highlights, structured surfaces with impulsive gestures. This dynamic approach, often accompanied by classical and jazz music, reflects an eventful life spent between regions of Germany and the USA. Plaumann’s art has been shown at ArtExpo New York, Red Dot Miami, and currently in the atrium of the JW Marriott Marquis hotel in Miami, as well as in Berlin.
