Jan Park brings together techniques from painting, printmaking, and textile design to create semi-abstract works distinguished by layered textures and complex surfaces. Working with acrylics, oils, mark making, and printed collage papers, she builds compositions that recall the intricate patterns of textiles. Her process includes sketchbook studies and handwritten narratives beneath each painting, alongside an instinctive use of color. Park’s landscapes, city backstreets, and seascapes are shaped to convey the atmosphere of a place—balancing moments of peace, solitude, and energy to evoke emotional responses and personal memories. She has also taught art at the university level.
