Drawing on African American and Puerto Rican heritage, this East Harlem–raised artist brings together contemporary abstraction, urban folk narrative, and Afro-Caribbean symbolism. Influenced by creative working-class parents—an aspiring screenwriter and a fashion designer—the artist began painting at 15 and later pursued studies in both art and fashion. A neurodivergent approach informs a range of styles animated by cultural storytelling and personal exploration. Now with four decades of practice, the artist continues to focus on subjects of personal significance, alongside writing novels and preparing an art book to be published next year.
