Wesley Cabral works across painting, drawing, performance, video, and installation, focusing on the human body as a site for vulnerability, tension, and intimacy. Her practice uses excavation, layering, and deconstruction to shape both materials and collaborations, often placing figures in heightened or unconventional situations to reveal psychological complexity. Cabral’s ongoing project, The Ecstasy of Surrender, blends multiple media in experiential, collaborative formats. As a muralist, she addresses social justice themes in public works, including commissions for the Oakland LGBTQ Community Center. Cabral’s work has been exhibited at the de Young Museum. She holds a BFA from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design.
