Vita Banko creates abstract works through painting, collage, and mixed media, focusing on the interplay of form, color, and material. Since graduating from the Vilnius Academy of Arts, she has developed an independent, research-led approach that began with the founding of TypeandStuff in 2011. Working on canvas and wood, Banko constructs her compositions by combining intuition with structural discipline and often uses experimental techniques. Her use of collage and layered surfaces highlights questions of texture, spatial tension, and the balance between chance and control. She lives and works between Vilnius, Berlin, and Madrid.
