Vinay Sane is a self-taught painter whose practice centers on color-driven abstraction. With a background in engineering, he employs palette knives, brushes, cloths, and masking fluids, working with techniques such as wet-on-wet, underlayering, overlayering, and scratch-off. His paintings, often vivid abstract landscapes, are marked by free and uninhibited brushwork that reflects impressionist abstraction. Sane draws inspiration from the tranquil banks of the Krishna River near Wai, Maharashtra, and the spiritual energy of the Himalayas, infusing his work with meditative and optimistic qualities.
