Van Quickenborne’s work centers on an exploration of time, realized through a distinctive combination of oil and acrylic—a technique he developed over several years of research. His paintings begin with preparatory drawings and compositional studies, each piece requiring about two months to complete. Since 1980, he has exhibited internationally, with presentations in France, Germany, Japan, Luxembourg, Spain, the USA, the United Arab Emirates, Belgium, and Poland. A member of the Taylor Foundation, Van Quickenborne has earned numerous awards, and his paintings are held in private collections, the Stadt Bühl Museum in Baden-Baden, and referenced in art publications. While his work aligns with Surrealists, visionaries, and steampunk, he maintains an independent position.
