Sylvie BERTON

France

Working with found materials such as packaging boxes, bottle caps, coffee grounds, and various shells, Sylvie Berton creates paintings and sculptures that examine nature’s persistent reclaiming of human-made environments. Central to her work is the use of eggshells, drawn by their dual symbolism as both a beginning and an emblem of chaos—reflecting cycles of destruction and renewal. As a self-taught artist, Berton integrates recycling as a core aspect of her practice and maintains a belief in the possibility of positive change through respect for the environment and an awareness of shared existence, even as she acknowledges the impermanence of civilizations.
