After working as a hairdresser, industrial clerk, and managing director, she found her true passion in painting in 2020. Her intensive exploration of acrylic paints opened up a new way of expression for her – free, spontaneous, and powerful. In her studio in Emsland, she combines gestural abstraction with geometric clarity. Her works reflect a turbulent biography, characterized by change, new beginnings, and creative freedom. For Susanne Dowden, art is an act of self-realization – far removed from rigid rules, full of emotion and energy.
