Drawing on a background in architecture from the Muthesius University of Fine Arts and Design (Dipl.-Ing.), the artist has pursued an independent practice since 2001, following years in the architectural field. Their work addresses the interplay between transition, perception, and change, with a particular focus on states that exist between emergence and dissolution. Through an open painting process, they create pared-down, organic pictorial spaces where color, line, and emptiness interact. Recent series such as “Embracing the Imperfect,” “Just for a While,” and “Thought Blossoms” each explore themes of imperfection, pause, and becoming. The artist is based in Kiel and has been a member of the BBK Schleswig-Holstein since 2020.
