Slim Aarons is best known for photographing the glamorous lifestyles of high society in postwar America. Beginning his career as a photographer for the U.S. military during World War II, he later focused on capturing the leisure and luxury of the elite in candid, unguarded moments. His images, including notable works such as “Kings of Hollywood” and “Poolside Gossip,” have come to symbolize mid-20th-century affluence.
