Serge Zalivatski is a painter and sculptor from eastern Ukraine known for large-scale canvases and sculptures that merge abstract and modern elements with classical influences. Employing Japanese Nihonga techniques and his own mineral pigments, he works with layered applications—sometimes building up to forty layers—and incorporates gold, silver, and palladium leaf. This approach brings together an extensive range of materials and methods, resulting in works that evoke a sense of harmony, longing, and meditative weightlessness.
