Sandra Krämer, born in 1986, is a self-taught painter based in Remshalden near Stuttgart. Driven to painting during a difficult personal period, Krämer developed her practice independently, working with acrylics, texture paste, plaster, pouring, and gold leaf. Her layered paintings often incorporate reliefs that become visible in raking light. Krämer is known for her 'Beach Waves' series—dynamic depictions of waves and sea spray—alongside large abstract works such as 'Reflections' and luminous paintings designed for black light. Exhibiting under the name Carmalea, which combines her children's names, Krämer showed her work in group exhibitions in Venice, Basel, Zug, Zurich, Athens, and Palma in 2024.
