Roberta Volpe is an artist, designer, and educator from Milan whose practice moves between theatre and fine art. Trained in Set Design at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera and in Set and Costume Design at the Opera Academy of Verona, she worked at Teatro alla Scala before making her international debut at the Amazonas Theatre in Brazil with Puccini’s Suor Angelica. Relocating to London in 2013, Volpe joined the Royal Opera House as a Scenic Artist, contributing to productions such as The Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables, and Mamma Mia!. Her work received the EVCOM Event Design Award in 2018. Since founding her studio in 2019, she has pursued a practice that brings together theatrical approaches and expressive, textural, impressionist techniques. Volpe is now based in Dubai, where she continues to create and teach.
