Working with mixed media and integrated LED lighting, Alexandra Piras creates luminous fissures across her "Line of Love" series—forming what she calls "living wounds" that pulse within each canvas. Drawing influence from Lucio Fontana and James Turrell, Piras approaches each crack not as destruction, but as revelation, connecting material presence with the transcendental. Her self-taught practice is informed by her French-Italian heritage and her background in psychology, channeling research into human behavior and emotion into abstract expressionist works that portray space through sensation and instinct. Recent exhibitions include Fondazione Matalon Milano and Firenze Contemporary 4 (2024).
