Pier Forlano

Belgium

Credentials

  • Works on commission
Working across painting, collage, bas-relief, and diorama, Pier Forlano uses materials such as tree bark, layered paper, and model figurines to explore ideas of fragility—psychological, political, and territorial. His sculpted paintings introduce added depth, while themes of separation, desire for connection, and the confrontation of unconscious taboos recur throughout his practice. Forlano cites tribal art, surrealism, symbolism, graffiti, and contemporary political topics including environmental issues and populist movements as influences. Two of his works are currently on view at the Palais des Beaux Arts in Charleroi. He approaches art as a means to illuminate the untold, valuing strong composition and emotional intensity.
