Working between oil painting, embroidery, and conceptual research, Peter Pitout draws on his upbringing in Durban, South Africa and his background in industrial art and design. Now based in France, he creates works that balance structured forms with elements of surrealist expression, often exploring light, vibration, and transformation. His practice is informed by residencies in France and internationally, which contribute to his ongoing artistic development. Pitout approaches creation as a process of reflection and reconnection, returning to personal origins as his work evolves. He has exhibited both nationally and internationally.
