Peïo is a French sculptor and painter whose work draws on experiences as a sailor and a deep connection to the tropics and island life. After the passing of his father, a watercolorist, Peïo returned to painting, focusing primarily on oil portraits. His paintings combine figurative and abstract elements, presenting finely rendered faces emerging through layers of intense color and dynamic shapes. Through this approach, Peïo seeks to reveal the connection between a subject’s spirit and physical presence.
