Paolo Cristiani (b. 1956, Milan) is an engineer and General Manager of a biomedical research consortium whose artistic practice spans photography, painting, and sculpture. A professional photographer during the 1980s, Cristiani draws on sources such as Calvino’s literature to examine the human journey and the emotional resonance of places of transit. Working across photographic realism, figurative painting, and wood and terracotta sculpture, he focuses on moments of anticipation and introspection, aiming to capture and share universal emotions encountered in diverse settings worldwide.
