Credentials

  • Famous Artist
Pablo Picasso produced work across a vast range of media, each with distinct standards for authentication. Major paintings and drawings are catalogued by Zervos, with authentication for significant pieces managed by the Picasso Administration. While most of these works remain in museum collections and command high prices, unique works on paper, drawings, or Madoura ceramics—referenced in the Ramié catalogue—are more common among private collectors. For unique works, provenance and condition are essential, requiring a clear history of ownership, exhibition, and publication. Picasso’s prints are valued based on a pencil signature, edition size, the printer’s blindstamp (such as Mourlot, Crommelynck, or Lacourière), and a listing in catalogues like Bloch, Mourlot, or Baer; posthumous prints bear a Succession Picasso estate stamp. Photomechanical posters are not considered originals and are valued far below signed works. At Singulart, partnerships with established galleries ensure that every Picasso offered is verified against the appropriate catalogue and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
