Working in oil on canvas and pastel, Annie’s practice centers on color and imaginative compositions that draw from the unconscious. Informed by art history, religion, and philosophy, she develops her work using sketches and photographs—both her own and those gathered through research—with an emphasis on emotional intelligence and lived experience. Annie’s creative pursuits extend to poetry and songwriting; her book "The Free Warmth of Summer" is available through Lulu publishing, and her music can be heard on her website, orphan-annie.com. In July 1993, she organized the multimedia performance "It's a Parody of Me" at the London Filmmakers Co-op, incorporating poetry, video, slides, and movement.
