Credentials

  • Group shows participant
  • Experienced Artist
  • Works on commission
Working in oil on canvas from his London studio, Martin Allen (b.1963) creates paintings that merge motorsport icons—such as Ayrton Senna, Lewis Hamilton, the Porsche 917 Gulf, and the Ford GT40—with references to pop art, luxury fashion, and political satire. His technique combines layered oils and transparent glazes on canvas and linen, drawing influence from Dalí, Freud, and Bacon. Allen was personally commissioned in 2024 by Lewis Hamilton to produce a farewell artwork for Mercedes-AMG F1, now held in the collection at Mercedes F1 Brackley. He is a member of the Guild of Motoring Artists and GRRC, and has exhibited at Goodwood Revival, Affordable Art Fair London, and Salon Privé Blenheim Palace Concours. His work has been featured in British Vogue, Octane Magazine, and Motorsport Magazine. He received a Special Mention for Excellence at the London Art Biennale 2019, and was commissioned by the BP Shipping collection.
