After a four-decade career in teaching, the transition to art education marked a turning point, prompting an active exploration of painting and artistic identity. Exhibiting first in local and national galleries, the work has since reached international venues including the Luxembourg Art Prize and MEAM in Barcelona. Figurative compositions frequently center on women, depicting strength and optimism amid adversity. Nature’s complexity is a continual source of inspiration. Using acrylic paint alongside collaged textiles, the practice draws on visual strategies inspired by Mickalene Thomas. Incorporating fabric—valued for its textures, threads, and vibrant hues—has become central to expanding both visual and thematic possibilities.
