Working across painting and photography, María Gutiérrez creates work that centers on emotional, atmospheric, and contemplative spaces, drawing viewers toward a deeper awareness of themselves, their environment, and the natural world. Originally from Bogotá, Colombia, she completed her art studies at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia in 2009, specializing in photography, before teaching art and photography in Bogotá for four years. After relocating to Germany in 2012, she continued her education at the Stuttgart State Academy of Fine Arts, graduating in 2021. Now based in Freiburg im Breisgau, Gutiérrez exhibits internationally with presentations in Colombia, Ecuador, Germany, Switzerland, and Spain.
