Combining impressionistic color with cubist structure, Luke Hey creates oil paintings informed by city life, natural environments, and dynamic cultural scenes. Trained at the University of Newcastle and Newcastle Art College, he has worked professionally since 2003 and began exhibiting soon after completing his studies. Hey is based in Prague, following time living and working in Europe, and his works have entered private collections worldwide. In 2021, he received the Golden Europea award from the European Union of Arts.
