Laurence Lejay is a French painter based in Paris, where she graduated from the Beaux-Arts. Her work is characterized by vibrant scenes that blend fiction and reality, often featuring expressive animals and humans in playful or intimate encounters. Drawing inspiration from personal memories and her ties to regions such as Limousin and the Ardennes, Lejay weaves nostalgia into her imaginative, humor-tinged compositions. She employs both ink and oil—a process influenced by van Eyck—to achieve luminous contrasts. Lejay previously worked as a textile designer at the Anne de Solage studio and is represented by Galerie Cécile Dufay in Paris.
