A multidisciplinary artist and internationally recognized concert cellist, Laura Buruiana lives and works in France. Known for translating musical resonance into layered, tactile paintings, she builds her canvases with impasto, rhythmic scraping, and chromatic contrasts using brushes, palette knives, and unconventional tools. Her practice negotiates between lyricism and structure, spontaneity and control, creating a visual counterpart to her experience in music. After experiencing a physical and psychological assault that resulted in hospitalization, Buruiana turned to painting as a space for reconstruction and renewal. In less than six months, her paintings have received over ten awards and appeared in eleven exhibitions and art fairs across Europe and the United States.
