Emphasizing atmosphere, reduction, and form, this practice resists the primacy of analytical thought in favor of imagination and emotional resonance. The work focuses on inner perception, developing images that exist between memory, feeling, and visual experience. Figures appear as fractured presences occupying the space between definition and dissolution, impulse and quiet. The Rhine phenomena series draws on direct perception of the river, distilling light, atmosphere, and duality into open states at the intersection of figure and space. Using pastel and charcoal, the artist creates fragmented perceptual spaces; each piece changes with daylight and reveals its depth from a distance.
