Kazuhiko Okushita is a Japanese animation director, illustrator, VJ, and live painter recognized for his distinctive one-line drawings based on rotoscope techniques. His project “Red Strings,” originally created as a school project, was screened at TED 2010 in Long Beach, curated by Jonathan Wells, founder of RESFest. He later produced opening and ending animations for TV Asahi’s “Houdou Station (News Station),” earning the Good Design Prize and cementing his reputation as a leading animation creator in Japan. Okushita’s flexible approach to color, line texture, and motif has attracted numerous clients and advertising agencies. His portfolio includes over 50 television and web commercials for national clients, as well as book covers, wall paintings for a prominent Hiroshima baseball club, VJ performances, and live painting events.
