Working primarily with reclaimed textiles, the artist engages directly with the material’s embedded history, character, and resistance. The textiles, marked by past tensions and traces of use, assert their own paths and do not yield easily to manipulation. Once affixed to a support, the material loses some of its intrinsic vitality, becoming static and flattened, though its presence lingers. Color serves as a key intervention in this process, activating the fibers and allowing them to visually separate from the background. Rather than depicting new forms, color uncovers depth and latent energy within the fabric, animating what once seemed inert and inviting a renewed sense of movement.
