Howard Holder

Australia

Howard Holder creates abstract works in pen, acrylic, and clay, marked by repetitive forms and a variety of techniques that often require hundreds of hours to complete. Themes of growth, challenge, and transformation are central to his practice, reflecting his personal experiences as an artist living with disability and autism. By the age of 24, Holder had participated in nearly 70 solo and group exhibitions and was an eleven-time finalist in jury art prizes. His work is held in collections across Australia and internationally, has received three awards, and has been featured in newspapers, on television, and in podcasts. Named the Pilbara region’s most accomplished artist, Holder has led workshops, participated in artist battles, collaborated with other artists and organizations, and produced commissioned work for businesses and councils. His art and merchandise are collected nationwide, with values steadily increasing.
