Credentials

  • Works on commission
Giuseppe Pitruzzello, an artist born in Sortino and trained in architecture in Turin, works across painting, drawing, and digital media. His practice, grounded in conceptual art and influenced by Surrealism, Symbolism, and Pop Art, centers on hyperrealistic compositions marked by symbolic color, recurring characters, and iconic forms. Pitruzzello’s figurative approach combines dreamlike and ironic elements, channeling emotions that move between joy and anxiety, and offering commentary on societal contradictions and the pursuit of transcendence. At 21, he was recognized as a winner in the 1974 international “Environment” competition organized by leading European newspapers. His work has appeared in the Venice Biennale Turin Pavilion (2011), and in publications including ARTE (Mondadori), La Repubblica, Torino Sette, TuttoSport, and Corriere dell'Arte. He is also featured in Mondadori’s “Catalogue of Modern Art” (2011–2018).
