Trained as an architect, Galyna Antonenko has dedicated six years to studying painting under the mentorship of Ukrainian artist V. Sosna. Working primarily with vivid acrylics, she focuses on portraits of women and children, seeking to capture fleeting moments of genuine presence. Her subjects—never posed models—reflect inner strength, vulnerability, and the beauty found in simplicity. Antonenko’s paintings aim to reveal the quiet facets of her sitters and to preserve the pure, unguarded emotions that define childhood. Through her work, she pursues a dialogue with time, aspiring to hold on to the brief instances when life feels most visible.
