Elidon Mucaj is a self-taught painter from Vlorë who divides his practice between Tuscany, Milan, and Berlin. Working mainly in oil on canvas, he approaches painting as a direct, material process, employing bold colors, palette knives, and emphatic brushwork. His experimental methods underscore a focus on emotional tension and the force of the unconscious, seeking to translate vulnerability, inner struggle, and hope into vivid form. Mucaj’s paintings aim to transform personal pain and anguish into images that feel at once immediate and authentic.
