Douce Robi is a Montreal-born painter of Croatian descent whose work centers on the complexity of human experience. After formative years in the south of France that affirmed her artistic path, she returned to Quebec to study painting, drawing, and sculpture. Guided by her mentor Christine Viens, she held her first solo exhibition, Capharnaüm, in 2018. Robi’s multidisciplinary practice includes the 2024 self-portrait series Intimate Tension, addressing identity, memory, and emotion. Seeking closer community ties, she relocated from Montreal to Stanstead, where local residents inspired her collection Stansteaders, la vie frontière, shown at Galerie du Vieux Forgeron in 2026.
