Working primarily in watercolor and acrylic, this self-taught artist draws significant influence from an early culture shock experienced in Africa, marked by vivid color and painted textiles, as well as a deep connection to the sea—both the Atlantic and the Mediterranean—which remains central to the work. Employing brush and palette, the artist’s style moves between figurative, impressionistic, and abstract. Color and form serve as a means to communicate emotion beyond language. After a lifelong passion for painting, the artist began exhibiting upon retirement and has shared new work with the public in recent years.
