Daniel Schinasi (1933–2021) was the founder of the Neofuturism movement, a painter whose career spanned more than 300 solo exhibitions. Born in Alexandria, Egypt, and passing in Nice, France, Schinasi reimagined Marinetti’s Futurism as an ethical modernity, distancing his work from the mechanistic and dystopian visions of the early 20th-century avant-gardes. His practice centered on themes of dignity, memory, and hope, often using dynamic imagery—like bicycles powered by human effort—to reflect harmony between humanity and nature. Schinasi created murals across Europe in rail stations, hospitals, churches, schools, and universities, presenting movement and renewal as fundamental aspects of his vision.
