Dagmar Stücher works with the idea of “deliberate chance,” blending intuition with natural processes. Drawing on the alchemy of chemistry and the effects of fire, she uses materials including lime putty, ash, Carrara marble dust, and international pigments to provoke chemical reactions—resulting in spontaneous cracks and organic surface tensions. Controlled applications of fire add distinctive marks to her work. In addition to these material-based experiments, Stücher produces precise acrylic compositions that emphasize color and movement. Through ongoing layering, deconstruction, and reconstruction, her practice reveals works of notable depth intended for both observation and direct emotional experience.
