Credentials

  • Works on commission
Working primarily with a palette knife, Clarisse Daurat creates oil paintings that move between abstraction and figuration, drawing on both natural and urban landscapes. Largely self-taught, she often begins from black and white photographs, reimagining color and light to emphasize the shifting moods of her subjects. Daurat divides her time between the Ardèche mountains, the Alps, and Lyon, and seeks to convey the intensity and vibrancy of each place. She is a member of the Lyon Academy of Painting and Carmina Lyon, and regularly exhibits her work in salons and group shows.
