Working with acrylic, Claire Morand moves between figurative scenes and impressionistic gestures, balancing precise detail with spontaneous marks made by brush, knife, or hand. Her paintings focus on movement and light, aiming to transform suffering into vibrant expressions of joy and well-being. In addition to her studio practice, Morand creates and personalizes mailboxes throughout southern France and Italy, turning local villages into collections of painted stories. She has designed décor for the Anatole Jakovsky Museum of Naïve Art in Nice and periodically leads painting workshops there for the museum’s Friends association. Morand is also a practicing psychologist.
