Raised in a small community in Swedish Lapland, Charlotte Eder has worked as an artist for over twenty years. Influenced by a family engaged in art, culture, and politics, and guided by her father, artist Josef Eder, she began painting early in life. Eder is known for her inventive approach to mixing mediums, particularly her method of hand-colorizing photographs to create a three-dimensional effect. Her work, marked by vivid color, intricate detail, and a focus on darkness and light, reflects her enduring connection to nature—a subject she portrays with elements of impressionism and surrealism. Due to personal trauma, her practice centers exclusively on landscapes, avoiding human figures. Eder has held numerous solo exhibitions in Finland and Sweden, is represented by several international and Swedish online galleries, and has a busy exhibition schedule extending through 2025.
