Catherine Zivi works across sculpture, painting, and engraving, drawing on a background in pottery and sculpture. She creates soft sculptural forms in chamotte clay, using natural pigments to produce pieces intended for both gardens and interiors. Her paintings bring together drawing, collage, engraving, and experimental mixed media, with a practice marked by openness to new techniques. Zivi’s subjects include people, emotions, cities, and nature, through which she seeks to express a poetic sensibility and a search for serenity.
