Carmen Rey Berrocal (born 1971, Mataró, Barcelona) is a figurative painter whose practice centers on oil and acrylic works on linen, wood, and canvas. She develops each image through layered applications, using removal techniques to create luminosity. Her portraits and scenes focus on intimacy and solitude, depicting figures engaged in moments of quiet reflection. Rey Berrocal began painting in 2014 following earlier careers in chemistry and computer science, studying contemporary realism and life drawing with artists including Antonio López, Alex Kanevsky, Joshua LaRock, Irene Cuadrado, and Paco Lafarga. Since 2016, she has exhibited in venues across Taipei, Hong Kong, New York, London, Madrid, and Barcelona, with solo exhibitions "Búsquedas" (2020) and "Visiones del retrato" (2023) in Mataró. Her work is held in private collections internationally.
