Camillo Buccella (b. 1965) lives and works in Abruzzo. Drawing on a foundation in the humanities, graphic arts, advertising, and publishing, he is active as a public education teacher. Buccella’s practice has shifted from digital painting and visual experimentation toward work on canvas and mixed media. In recent works, notably the Oceanica series, he uses layered pigments and repeated abrasion to create surfaces that evoke the experience of deep-sea navigation—not simply as subject matter, but as metaphors for inner states and existential passage.
