Barbara Thalia Schneeweis is an Austrian painter and textile artist known for her vibrant use of color and dynamic compositions. Trained at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and the University of Applied Arts Vienna, her practice draws influence from Emil Nolde, Sonia and Robert Delaunay, and Action Painting. Schneeweis received the Austrian State Prize for Art and Design in 1993, after which she produced a series of velvet paintings. Currently, she focuses on expressive landscapes characterized by luminous palettes. Her work centers on light, color, and the interconnectedness of life, approaching art as a force to make beauty perceptible and inspire hope.
