Armelle Léon works primarily with ink and watercolor on Asian papers, incorporating swift gestures, poetic elements, and the ura-uchi marouflage technique. Her landscapes move between abstraction and figuration, shaped by close observation of Belle-Île-en-Mer’s natural environment. After studying at the Fine Arts school in Lorient and Rennes 2 University, Léon developed a strong interest in Asian arts and spirituality. In addition to her works on paper, she has explored ceramics and enamels, participating in collective firings using Japanese anagama kilns to create stoneware pieces. Her work is held in private collections in France, the United Kingdom, the Canary Islands, China, Japan, and New Zealand.
