Antonino Nicolini, born in Palermo in 1972, is a painter and sculptor whose practice spans oil on canvas and materials such as pure gold. After studying art in high school and learning terracotta sculpture in his family’s workshop, Nicolini developed a distinctive self-taught approach. His work draws on Mannerist elegance, Impressionist and contemporary comic influences, resulting in a style he describes as “stellar-faith.” Nicolini’s art communicates visions of faith and hope, grounded in a desire for peace amid present-day suffering. He received the Golden Lion in Venice in 2025 for his work The Universal Eucharist. Forthcoming exhibitions include the Maxxy Museum and Dantebus Bazar in Rome and Florence.
