Alessio Mazzarulli works with everyday materials to explore time and perception. Beginning with clay modeling, he developed a tactile approach that now informs his material paintings, where layered surfaces and relief play a central role. Mazzarulli incorporates fragments of recycled paper collected from daily life, preserving them in acrylics and resins to create intentionally distorted, composite images that prompt a holistic view. His “Dot Art” series features small wooden discs arranged to engage with the voids of memory; the empty spaces invite viewers to reconstruct images and experience time as a process of erosion and reassembly.
