Alessandro Marini (b. 1973, Rome) is a painter based in Viterbo. Originally working in comics—debuting as an author for the magazine SHORTS in the mid-1990s—Marini shifted his focus to painting in 2000. His work centers on oil painting, which he uses to balance a monochromatic, grotesque sensibility with echoes of traditional technique. Marini creates solitary, silent figures marked by distorted features and dark, ironic expressions, often set in closed, shadowed interiors. In recent years, he has collaborated with artists across disciplines on themed exhibitions and multimedia projects.
