Working primarily in oil on linen, often at large scale, this artist creates scenes where humans and animals encounter one another, each observing the other with evident curiosity. A preference for blue tones runs throughout the work, both in the paintings and in a parallel series of ink drawings on watercolor paper known as "the blue drawings." The use of blue introduces a sense of poetic distance between reality and its representation, evoking a space between what is seen and what is felt. The imagery draws on an inner world shaped since childhood, populated by free animals and elements of myth, and often balances realism with imagination. In 2023, one of the artist’s paintings was acquired for the Standard Chartered Bank art collection.
